Tech stack map - our project vs the bioecon.ru technology index

Companion document: ECOSYSTEM-CATALOGUE.md (generated by tools/build_ecosystem_catalogue.py) covers all 635 technologies in 46 clusters as a commercial ecosystem — per-technology supplier counts, risk, regions, dossier status and our own links — and lists the enrichment backlog including the deferred watchlist below. This map stays the record of what we changed in our own tagging; the catalogue is the wider view.

Written 2026-09-29. Source: en.bioecon.ru/technology (635 technology dossiers). Raw captures in asia_biotech_research/data/bioecon/: technologies.json (full index), tech_pages.json (91 vault-relevant dossier texts), tech_suppliers.json (parsed supplier tables), tech_coverage_review.json (this review, machine-readable), TECH-STACK-CHECK-2026-09-29.html (the first check report).

What was compared#

“Our project’s technologies” = three layers: the topic tree (sources/topics.json keyword rules that tag companies), the 115 articles in 17 collections (the substitutions themselves), and the watchlist in BIOECONOMY-TRENDS.md. Method: token/keyword matching of all 635 tech names against topic regexes and article titles; every low-coverage tech on an in-scope cluster was hand-read; candidate rules were scored against the 1,578 company cards before any rule was added.

Added to the project (2026-09-29)#

New topics: 39 -> 47 (identical in all three datasets)#

Rubric tag-mappings (tools/rubrics.py)#

  • animal-vaccines -> veterinary, fishery articles
  • bamboo -> construction, forestry articles

Effect: construction left the rubric gap list (38 -> 41 candidates; gaps are now mining only).

Reviewed and deliberately NOT added (thin company base; kept as discovery watch items)#

hemp materials (0 companies), bio-adhesives (2), bio-asphalt (1), eDNA/biomonitoring (2), rare-earth biosorption (1), bio-flotation reagents (1), microbial peptides (3), bio-lubricants (2), antifouling marine coatings (2), biofortification (3), bio-polyurethanes (n/a). These match real gaps in the stack too - paid discovery (exa_osint.py) could seed them later.

Out of scope (no action)#

Therapeutics / diagnostics / medtech (~80+ techs), digital / AI / analytics, finance, insurance, regulatory services, defense & forensics, lab equipment and cleanroom topics, consumer-product niches.

Open items#

  • bioecon.ru also runs Grants (45 open calls) and Tenders (377 open notices; EU-skewed) screens - candidates for monitoring; not captured yet.
  • The 91 captured dossiers double as a candidate source for supplier-gap articles (e.g. bio-mining, bio-cementation, bioherbicides, pheromones - the text and supplier tables are searchable in data/bioecon/).
